The Killearn Lakes Homeowner's Association sponsors several fun events for residents throughout the year.  These events are paid for in part by your homeowner's dues, as well as the generosity of local sponsors.  All of the events below are loads of fun, but are even more fun if you get involved. Volunteers are always welcome to assist in the planning and organization of the homeowner's functions.  Please call the KLHOA Office (668-3231) if you would like more information on how you can help.
Easter Egg Hunt 2000

Calling all kids!  Each year Killearn Lakes' kids are invited to Tekesta Park to test their egg hunting skills.  The hunt is divided up into appropriate age groups and there are plenty of special prizes.  Sometimes the Easter Bunny even makes a guest appearance!  The hunt is usually held the Saturday before Easter.  Check with the KLHOA Office (668-3231) for the date and time.
Kid's Fishing Tournament

Each spring, usually in May, the Fish and Wildlife Committee sponsors a kid's fishing tournament at Lake Monkey Business.  The lake is stocked so there are lots of fish to catch, and there are raffle prizes galore.  Look for announcements on this web page and in the Lake Currents for the date of the next tournament.  Better yet, if you like to fish, and want to pass on the enjoyment of this sport to the next generation, call the KLHOA Office (668-3231) and volunteer to help the Fish and Wildlife Committee.
4th of July Fireworks and Picnic

If you're new to Killearn lakes, you'll be surprised at what a great fireworks display we put on each year at Lake Monkey Business.  Along with the rockets' red glare we also have a band, and families come out to picnic and enjoy a summer evening together.  Like all KLHOA events this is for Killearn Lakes residents only.  You will be mailed a flyer prior to the 4th of July.  Bring that flyer as proof of residency.
Fall Picnic

Some folks say this is our best event of all.  If the weather cooperates and we get one of North Florida's cool autumn days, with bright blue skies, the fall picnic at Tekesta Park can truly be a magic time.  We have moon walks, pony rides, games and more for the kids, and a band for Mom & Dad to enjoy.  We provide the drinks, hot dogs, and hamburgers, and you and all your neighbors provide your favorite side dishes and deserts.  This is one huge potluck dinner!  Check this web site, look for signs posted at the neighborhood entrance, or call the KLHOA Office (668-3231) to find out the date and time.
